History of the Italian Vietnam Chamber of Commerce

The Italy Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CCIV) was established in 1996 with the support of the Center for Vietnamese Studies and with the patronage of the Vietnamese Embassy in Rome. It supports Italian enterprises in Vietnam and Vietnamese enterprises in Italy. It was recognized by the Italian Ministry of International Commerce (D.M. 15.2.2000, n. 96) in 2000 and it is registered with Unioncamere (the Italian association of Chambers of Commerce) in the Register of the Italian-Foreign Chambers of Commerce.

Under the auspices of the Embassy of RS Vietnam, the Italian Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CCIV) stands alongside Italian companies in Vietnam and Vietnamese companies in Italy. The CCIV works in collaboration with the Commercial Office of the Vietnam Embassy, ASSOEVI - Association of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Italy, the Italy-Vietnam and Vietnam-Italy friendship associations, and the Vietnamese Studies Center. In addition, the Chamber cooperates with the official Italian institutions to promote and intensify economic, commercial, financial, cultural relations and economic-technical collaboration between Italian and Vietnamese companies in the sectors of industry, trade, crafts, agriculture, auxiliary and tertiary activities.

Aiming at strengthening the relationship between Italy and Vietnam, the CCIV cooperates with Italian and Vietnamese institutions to promote and increase commercial, financial, and cultural relations. It strongly supports economical and technical collaboration among Italian and Vietnamese enterprises operating in any relevant sector: from industry to commerce, from handicraft to agriculture and services. Among its first initiatives, we like to mention the economic mission organized in 1996 with the City of Turin, while in more recent years the CCIV was involved, together with the Association of Small Enterprises of Torino and Province, the Chamber of Commerce of Turin, with the support of the Vietnamese Consulate and the Vietnamese Embassy in the seminar entitled "Investments in Vietnam - Business opportunities, productive sectors and tax system" that was organized to celebrate the first 40 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam.
