The visit of Ambassador of Vietnam in Italy Duong Hai Hung in Torino from 9th to 10th June 2022



On the 9th and 10th June 2022, in the framework of his institutional visit in Piemonte Region and Torino, the Ambassador of Vietnam in Italy Duong Hai Hung held a meeting with Director of Unione Industriali in Torino Mr. Angelo Cappetti, and with other 20 delegates from Italian companies in sectors as automotive, shoes and leather, mechanic, renewable energy, high quality plastic material, electronic industrial, industrial laser, food. The Ambassador joined the seminar on Investments in Vietnam held at API, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Torino. The assessor of Piemonte Region for social policies and international cooperation, Mr. Maurizio Marrone, and the assessor of Torino for work, businesses, municipal police and security policies, Ms. Giovanna Pentenero are also attended to this meeting.







The director of Unioni Industriali in Torino, leaders of Piemonte Region and Torino were impressed by the dynamic economic growth of Vietnam, stating Piemonte Region has more than 400 thousands enterprises, representing a huge potentiality for cooperation with Vietnam in various sectors, like industry, automotive, mechanic, renewable energy, industrial machinery and agriculture. In 2021 Piemonte’s import from Vietnam rose by over 30%.


The Ambassador Duong Hai Hung showed Vietnamese economic resources, strength and development priorities, in terms of scientific, technological, innovative, economic, digital, sustainable development, and the chances for foreigners investors. The Commercial Counselor Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh answered to specific questions made by Italian companies about investments, entrepreneurial incentives, salaries and energy costs.


During his trip, the Ambassador visited Eataly – a food vendor chain which offers high quality food stuffs from all over Italy -, Lavazza Museum – the iconic coffee brand in Italy -, Green Pea – the first sustainable and clean energy supplied mall -, too.



Piemonte, situated on the North-West of Italy, with 4.5 millions dwellers, is the forth region in terms of exportation and the fifth in terms of GDP. The region has a high specialized in automotive sector, with FIAT group and associated companies, which is now looking at green and renewable industry. Torino is the state capital, the third economic center in the country. Furthermore, it is a central of italian artists, tourism, science and culture.
